The mid-90s were a particularly fertile period for Kim's painting. During this period, she co-owned and operated a beachside art cafe in Germany's North Sea coast. After a 12-hour day in the cafe, she would return home. It was necessary to pass through her studio to get to her living space, so many times she would stop for a moment and end up painting until the early A.M.
